Stakeholder consultation with Mannum Oval users has taken place to identify the best site for the new changeroom facility.
The proposed site for the new changeroom facility is behind the playground and in line with the existing Football Clubrooms, and close proximity to the netball / tennis courts. This area is equally accessible to both the football club and netball / tennis clubs. The central location of this site is a high player usage area for the sporting clubs who have an interest in utilising this facility.
Key considerations have been examined by stakeholders.
- Accessibility and Proximity
- Orientation and Aesthetics
- Soil Conditions and Drainage
- Safety and Security
- Utilities and Services
Advantages
- Accessibility for Netball and Tennis: This location is the preferred option for netball and tennis because it makes the change rooms more accessible. This direct proximity would be highly beneficial for players, reducing the distance they need to travel to and from the courts.
- Central Location: Placing the facility in line with the Football Clubrooms creates a central hub for multiple sports, which could foster a more integrated sporting community.
Disadvantages
- Not Ideal for Football: This site is not seen as beneficial for football spectators and players watching games on the oval. The positioning may obstruct views and make it inconvenient for football-related activities.
Utilities and Aesthetics
- There is access to water and power at this site and a proposed new wastewater route will service this new facility.
- This option maximises functionality and the aesthetic appeal for the various user groups. After careful consideration, the football club and all parties agree that the proposed site is the optimal location for the new Female Changeroom Facility, ensuring the best outcome for the entire complex. This option balances the priorities of netball and tennis with those of football.
