The Truro planning area, located on the upper western boundary along the Mount Lofty ranges, consists of the following housing areas.

Truro is located approximately 80 km northeast of Adelaide along the Sturt Highway, situated on the ridge of the Mount Lofty Ranges. It was founded around 1848 by John Howard Angas. Once a copper mining hub, with the Whealbarton mine operating from 1842 to the 1970s, the town is now largely focused on crop farming. Given its proximity to the Barossa Valley, there are also some established wineries nearby.

Tourists and visitors can explore historic walks such as the Truro Walk and Barton Drives. Pioneer Park in the town centre celebrates the area’s heritage and offers a picnic gazebo, along with a link to the Lavender Federation Walking Trail. Truro is a popular stop for those traveling between Adelaide and the Riverland.

The nearby locality of Dutton also adds to the region’s rural charm and historical significance. Located to the north, Dutton is known for its heritage buildings and agricultural roots, further enriching the broader region’s cultural and historical context.
