What you need to know about Mid Murray Council Community Action Plans

To engage community members and stakeholders to co-design Community Action Plans for the nine planning areas to replace the District Action Plans. The aim is to ensure the plans are responsive to community expectations and framed as a shared responsibility to achieve targeted local results. The plans are to focus on the strengths, values and attributes within the three elements of Community, Individual and Place. The plans will seek to address the social, environmental and economic context within the community.

The key foundations of the plans are that Council and the community have a shared responsibility to build strong communities. By working together, we can identify the core opportunities and challenges in each planning area and develop plans that clearly identify priority areas / and projects. By identifying the key strengths (assets) in each area, communities can develop a better understanding of how they can influence and control outcomes for their community.

By assessing and documenting what can be controlled and influenced, a community can focus its energy working on things that they can do something about.
